| Much better than last time. Medium(+) garnet, just nudging towards ruby at the rim. Nose is heady and intense with ripe plums, blackcurrants, blackberries, cinnamon and tea. Palate a touch lighter than expected, a little tight maybe, but still has the fruit and the spice and a bit of woody character started to come through. Treacly and voluptuous mouth feel. Soft tannin but with a decent amount of grip. Medium acidity, nicely in balance, brings a bit of freshness and poise. Long finish. Look forward to seeing how this develops. |
