Tasted side by side with Les Castets and Sur le Sentier du Clou. Clear pale lemon. Delicate medium(-) nose, some toast, brioche, hazelnuts, green apple. Much softer and more elegant than Les Castets but still quite a lot going on here. Palate has Golden Delicious apples, flaky pastry, apple strudel. Medium(+) acidity but a touch of creaminess to offset it. Medium body. Very long finish. Beautifully balanced from start to finish, very complete, probably the “best” of the three even if I preferred Les Castets for its extra oomph. |
