Lovely pale gold colour. Intense nose, lemons, Granny Smith apples, some peach (maybe apricot?), a little hazelnut, white flowers, pastry. Palate follows with a chalkiness, a bit of honey and a little coconut from the oak. Round mouthfeel, medium-full bodied but the acidity is reasonably high and keeps everything beautifully in check - there is a lovely balance between the ripe fruit and the acid and minerality. Medium-long finish, everything fading together with nothing sticking out. Took a couple of hours to really open but absolutely stunning when it did. Such a nice wine especially for the price. |
